Dear friends of Katoke,
We enjoyed a wonderful Annual Katoke Dinner last Friday night. So much that was encouraging!

The program presented Katoke through fresh eyes: Tim McAleer spoke of his vivid first-hand experiences at Katoke and its beneficial effects. This was illustrated by photos set up by Phil Leece. The interview by David Fell with recent visitors, Lee King, Roeland Weisfelt and Eloise Walker gave insights each from a different perspective and was greatly appreciated.

The new venue, Club on East, was successful. The auditorium accommodated our 200 guests comfortably. The meal was well received and enjoyable.
The value of our work was noticed by others. One of those from the Club who was clearing up told Phil Butcher as he thanked her, ”You are doing very good work”.

Our next step is to start building the Assembly Hall. We expect to have funds enough to start Stage 1 – the 800 seat assembly area and its double doors that become walls – but we still need to fund the foyer, small meeting rooms, storage, kitchenette, servery and toilets. If you missed the Dinner but would like to give a tax-deductible donation please donate using the link below.

Warm thanks for the organising committee, Tim, Sid and Marilyn, for the MCs of the night, Susan Burgis and her son-in-law Neil van Heerden and the many who presented. We thank all who contributed so generously to the fundraising but above all, we thank God for the privilege of sharing in transforming lives in the name of Jesus.
